Recent Changes[]

  • For 2012, the VXR8 receives a mild facelift and minor performance tweaks. Now based on the Holden E3 series GTS model instead of the lower-spec ClubSport R8, the supersedan features a redesigned grille, LED daytime running lights and tail lamps, new wing vents and rear spoiler, updated instrument cluster, full leather trim, HSV Performance Seats and an Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI), the fourth generation GM LS3 engine producing 431 hp and 550 Nm (407 lb-ft) of torque, limited slip differential and GM's proprietary Magnetic Ride Control electronically controlled dampers. The 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint takes just 4.9 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). Pricing is set at £49,500 (VAT included).[1]

  • For 2010, Vauxhall follows in the footsteps of its Australian cousin, Holden, and creates a supersedan called the VXR8 Bathurst S by bolting a Walkinshaw 122 Supercharger to the VXR8's 6.0-liter V8. Power is a mind-blowing 556 hp and 529 lb.-ft of twist, equal that of the Cadillac CTS-V. Prices for this Anglo-Saxon dragon starts at £44,995. [2][3]
