Recent Changes[]

  • For 2011, Peugeot puts its GTi badge to work again with a hotted up version called the 308 GTi 200HP. Starting at €26,900, the 5-door only GTi slaps a twin-scroll turbocharger on the 308's 1.6 litre THP Inline-4 to produce 200 hp @ 5500-6800 rpm and 202.8 lb-ft (275 Nm) of torque @ 1700-4500 rpm. The power is then routed to the front wheels by way of a 6-speed Manual. 0-100 kph is dealt with in 7.7 seconds and finishing the 1000 m sprint in 27.8 seconds. Despite this, the GTi 200HP still returns an average fuel consumption of 6.9 lt/100km or 34.1mpg US with 159 g/km of CO2. The chassis, suspension, steering, and ride height has also been tuned to allow the car to take full advantage of the newfound power. The wheels are now shod, as well, with 340 mm diameter brake discs at the front and 290 mm at the rear. Styling tweaks are pretty subtle and are limited to carbon-style insert under the front bumper, a lower front panel derived from the 308 CC, roof spoiler, a rear diffuser finished in Perla Nera black, GTI badges, twin chrome exhaust pipes, sports seats at the front, aluminum foot rest and gear knob, leather sport steering wheel with a flattened bottom and thumb rests, piano black fascia trim and 18-inch alloy wheels coated in 225/40 R18 sport tires. The hot hatch goes on sale, in France, on June 10, 2010. [1]
  • Peugeot Australia released a 2010 limited edition Sportium based on the XSE. It features 17 inch 'Stromboli' alloy wheels, USB port with Bluetooth connectivity, sports leather wrapped steering wheel, aluminium highlights and more. [2]
  • As expected, Peugeot has launched a coupe-convertible variant of the 308 subcompact. The 308CC debuts just in time for the 2009 model year with an official unveiling in October 2008's Paris Motor Show. [3][4]
  • For the 2009 MY, Peugeot added a wagon variant to the 308 lineup at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. The 308 SW is powered by a range of engine choices: the Petrol lineup consist of the naturally aspirated 95 HP 1.4-liter and 120 HP 1.6-liter units as well as the 1.6-liter turbocharged unit available with 140 HP (Auto), 150 HP and 175 HP while Diesel options include the 90 HP 1.4-liter, 110 HP 1.6-liter and 136 HP 1.6-liter. Replacing the outgoing 307 SW, the new wagon has also grown in size. Its wheelbase is now 100 mm longer and rear overhang has increased by 124 mm. The car is expected to go on sale by the summer of 2008. [5]
  • For the 2009 MY, Peugeot will also add its range-topper variant: the 308 GT. Debuting at the same show as the SW, the GT sports a 1.6 litre turbo-charged THP 175 HP petrol engine, previously found in the 207 GTi THP 175 attached to a 6-speed manual tranny. Acceleration figures are pegged 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.3 sec on to a top speed of 140 mph – 225 km/h. - The car also sports a revised bodywork and exclusive interior accoutrements. The car goes on sale in Europe during the Spring of 2008.[6]
