Criticisms[]

  • "Fun, but could be faster (207 GTi)" - CARSguide
  • "The driving position is only really suitable for those whose legs are exactly the same length as their arms. That is no-one". - Top Gear
  • "Electrically-assisted power steering offers no real feel; wind and road noise below class leaders; jiggly ride over broken tarmac; tiptronic auto still only four speeds; prices have risen by up to $3K" Wheels Magazine
  • "We've liked many past Peugeots but the cute-looking, sharp-handling new GTi disappoints, starting with its absence of any solid feel. By the way it clatters and jolts over (our admittedly crappy) roads, it feels in need of a thorough spanner check. But that's not the end of the criticism. Peugeot's seat/wheel/pedal relatively aggrieves. Door handles are out of reach, the seats lack support, the brakes seem uneven and our test car has an intermittent flat spot around 2000rpm. Gear selection and shift quality ins't crash hot. Aggravatingly, the owner's manual appears not to fit into the glovebox. We must ask: what happened to Peugeot's legendary durability, kicked off by its 1953 Redex Reliability Trial success, and the impressive ride that marked the marque's progress through five decades?" - Wheels Magazine

Worldwide[]

The 207 is sold throughout Europe. In Australia, the 207 had an acception here as strong sales were evident. The 207 is one of the highly acclaimed European cars for its style, fuel economy, practicality, ride quality, features and value for money. Most of the demand for the 207 in Australia are in urban areas particularly with the 207 HDi.

Design quirks and oddities[]

  • The Peugeot 207 GTi's minimum octane rating is RON 95.
  • The honeycomb mesh behind the Peugeot badge doesn't flow any air into the engine bay.
  • As part of the mid-cycle makeover, the models XT, SW and GTi have a new range of Australian themed alloy wheels named 'Brisbane', 'Sydney' and 'Melbourne'. The sizes range from 15 inch to 17 inch.
