Unique Attributes[]
The Toronado Granturismo embodied many new Oldsmobile safety ideas. "It had completely molded door panels with no metal garnishing, recessed hardware and an excess of protected padding, inertia reel shoulder harnessses and a roof console incorporating flush switches for power windows and seat and interior lights. Adequate, safe lighting had much to do with accident prevention and the this Toronado emphasized that point with courtesy lamps in doors to light the exit area, sequencing flashers to warn approaching cars when the doors were open, reading and dome lights and warning lamps for seat belt, low fuel and unlocked doors." The Toronado Granturismo also had a custom interior.
