The KTM X-Bow is the first car ever to be produced by the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM. The car was developed in partnership with Kiska Design, Audi and the Italian race car company Dallara. The X-Bow uses a turbocharged Audi TFSI engine that produces 177 kW (237 hp) at 6000 rpm and 310 N·m (228.6 lb·ft) of torque peaks at a level between 2200 and 4000 rpm.[1]

Originally the company planned a production of 500 units a year, but because of high demand the company has increased production to 1000 cars a year and has built a new plant near Graz for it.[2]

The car will be priced at £38,282in the UK without VAT.

The car is priced at €47,790 in Germany without Mwst.

Reiter Engineering participates with two X-Bows in the 2008 FIA GT4 Championship (#100 Catharina Felser, #101 Christopher Haase and Dennis Retera).

Recent Changes[]

  • For 2011, KTM adds an even more extreme variant of the X-Bow called the X-Bow R. The R ups the standard car's 240 hp to 300hp by way of the Audi S3's 2.0 TFSI engine. It will be available in two equipment packages: a road legal / homologated "Sport" package and a more track orientated "Race" pack. [1]
  • For 2018, KTM launches the X-Bow GT4, a lightweight and more powerful variant of the X-Bow, superseding the X-Bow R. In addition to the monocoque, which came from the Italian motor racing specialist Dallara, the German racing car constructor Reiter Engineering and the engineering service provider KTM Technologies both played decisive roles in the development process. The unique design was once again the work of KISKA. The car is unrivaled in terms of efficiency, cost-effectiveness and safety. It can be deployed all over the world, and above all, it is specifically designed to suit the future GT4 class. It is also low in price when compared to other models, and there are no additional hidden costs! It is equipped with a 2000 ccm Inline4 otto engine which produces up to 360 PS  (264.8 kW) and 500 Nm of torque. The car weighs 975 kg, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 2.71 kg/PS.  KTM states a sprint value of 3.9 s from 0 to 100 km/h and claims a top speed of 265 km/h . The engine is attached to a 6-speed sequential gearbox, which routes the power to the rear wheels. In Germany they were sold for a base price of €165,410.00.
  • For 2020, KTM Launches the X-Bow GTX, the fastest and most powerful variant in the lineup. It's the first GT racing car to combine a homologated monocoque with a homologated GT rollcage and a carbon fibre competition seat. Alongside superior technology, the new models are obviously making an extraordinary statement on design: A race car, as pure as a race car can be. On this basis, the KTM X-BOW GTX and GT2 CONCEPT models are able to compete against high-profile super sport cars in terms of power-to-weight-ratio, cornering speed, stopping distance, top speed and, last but not least, lap times - whether it's on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, in professional racing or during track days. Of course, both models remain absolutely faithful to the DNA of the original KTM X-BOW: Radical, puristic, precise, performance driven.
