2007 Chrysler Pacifica

The Chrysler Pacifica is a mid-size crossover SUV from DaimlerChrysler. It shares its platform with the Chrysler minivans but offers all wheel drive and an upscale interior. The Pacifica was introduced for 2004 and was originally inspired by the Chrysler Citadel concept car. The Pacifica, according to Chrysler, is a "sports tourer". The Pacifica is built in Windsor, Ontario, Canada alongside the Chrysler Town & Country and the Dodge Grand Caravan.

In November 2007, Chrysler LLC announced that the Pacifica is scheduled to be phased out after the 2008 model year. The Pacifica has not been replaced, but there were rumors of a 2009 Pacifica designated as the CT49. Possible changes may have included a rear-wheel drive layout and, if produced, was slotted for production at the St. Louis Assembly plant in mid-2008.

Recent Changes[]

As a model only recently introduced in 2004, the Pacifica has undergone very little external revision. For 2006, the "Limited" trim level was made available without all-wheel drive. For 2007, Chrysler's 4.0 L SOHC V6 engine was added.

Styles and Major Options[]

The 2007 Pacifica is available in three trims: the Base model, the Touring, and the Limited. Although the Base model comes with the fewest standard features of the three, it is the only trim level that offers a choice of engines between a 3.8L 215hp V6 and a 4.0L 253hp V6. The Touring and Limited are both equipped with the latter. In addition, the Base model is also the only trim to offer a choice of transmission between a 6-speed Autostick and a 4-speed Autostick, as the other two are fitted with the 6-speed. All models are available in either front wheel drive or full-time all wheel drive. Some of the standout features are as follows:

  • 8-way power driver (4-way passenger) front bucket seats
  • Cloth seating and headliner

Unique Attributes[]

Resale Values[]

According to Kelley Blue Book, "the base Pacifica and Touring model are projected to hold a slightly less-than-average residual value, while the all-wheel drive Limited is expected to hold a slightly higher than average value. On the whole, the Pacifica is expected to hold its value better than GM's minivans, on par with the Ford Freestyle and below the Nissan Murano, Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander crossover SUVs."

Criticisms[]

  • "If you're looking for a V8 power or the tall ceiling and overall interior space of a Sport Utility Vehicle or minivan, you best look elsewhere." - Kelley Blue Book

Current Generation: 1st (2004–Present)[]

The Pacifica's styling is based on the current Caravan, being boxed out and smaller in size.
