Reliability[]
According to Consumer Reports, the Venture has extremely dubious reliability.
Safety[]
Its sibling, the Trans Sport was tested by the IIHS in late 1996 at a 40 MPH (64 kmh) frontal offsetand received a Overall rating of POOR because of structural failure and "extreme steering wheel movement violently snapped the dummys neck back." And the parts that hold the car together didn't seperate. It was also rated #1 Worst Performing Vehicle Ever Tested.

Current Generation: (1997–2005)[]
First Generation/Origins (1997–2005)[]
The Venture, Montana and Silhouette were built to replace the "dustbuster" vans. It was offered in Short and Extended wheelbase. It came in 5 trims. They are LS,LT,Base,PLUS and Warner Bros. They were built in the Doraville, Georgia plant. It started out as a 7 passenger and 3 door van. Some had the ability to add up to 8 passengers and have 4 doors. The lightweight seats (38lbs.) were easier to handle than Chrysler's over 50lbs seats. They had power sliding doors as an option. It had 2nd and 3rd row Climate and Audio controls. For 1999, 5HP was added to the engine to equal fairly 185 horsepower. For 2000 the 3-door Venture has dropped. At this exact year, the Warner Bros. edition was introduced that included leather seats, Warner Brothers badging with Bugs Bunny leaning against the Warner Brothers logo, and a DVD entertainment system, which could stop the complaining for kids. It also had Wireless headphones. For 2002, All Wheel Drive was introduced as well as a new steering wheel to mach the Chevrolet Impala. The Warner Bros. edition is discontinued for 2003. The Venture was looking at slow sales for 2005 and was replaced by the Chevrolet Uplander.
Worldwide[]
For Europe, the Chevrolet Venture and it's siblings are sold as the Opel Sintra/Chevrolet Trans Sport. It was a 7 passenger MPV built from 1996 to 1999. It was replaced by the Opel Zafira a compact MPV.
