History[]

The Acura ILX was introduced in 2012 as a 2013 model. It had two engine choices: a 2.0L I4 with a 5-speed automatic transmission, or a 2.4L I4 with a 6-speed manual. There was also a hybrid version with a 1.5L I4 (see Acura ILX#Acura ILX Hybrid), though it was dropped after only two years.

The ILX had its first facelift in 2015 for the 2016 model year. The 5-speed automatic and 6-speed manual were dropped and replaced with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 2.0L I4 was dropped as well. LED headlamps are standard, as are LED taillights. There is also a new A-Spec package. Production began in January 2015.

For the 2019 model year, the ILX was facelifted a second time, featuring the company's "Diamond Pentagon" grille. The headlights, taillights, and front bumper were redesigned, and the plate was moved from the trunk to the rear bumper. Red leather is also new with the A-Spec package. AcuraWatch is also standard.

The ILX was discontinued after the 2022 model year; it was replaced with the Integra liftback, also based on the Civic.
